BULLETIN BOARD DECORATION COMPETITION
A class room board reflects the student's creativity, team work and thematic skills. Keeping this in mind the classroom Bulletin Board Decoration Competition was held in the School during the zero period. Classes were allotted various topics and the boards had to decorated keeping them in mind. The students came with beautiful graffiti's, posters and quotations .The topic for classes I to V, save water life, unity in diversity, know thy universe and for classes VI to XII India of my dreams.
THE EARTH DAY CELEBRATIONS
CLDAV Sr. Public School celebrated the earth day. A special morning assembly was organised highlighting the need to save mother earth from destruction. Students presented a skit showcasing the effects of pollution on mother earth. Thought provoking articles, poems and stories were also presented to sensitize children about various ecological problems. Students pledged that they would be more considerate towards Mother Earth.
ENGLISH MASS RECITATION COMPETITION
The English mass recitation competition for classes 1st to 5th was held on 28/5/2018 in the school multi media. Children enjoyed the beauty of poetry, expression of thought, feeling rhythm and rhyme. Not only this, children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent but also their confidence. Little children with their poems on nature, travel plans, books, and smile showcased their oratory skills. They were judged on intonation, volume, rhythm , accent and pace of speech. The school provides the student an environment that promotes audible expressions as a core part of curricular. MEDITATION SESSIONS
CLDAV Senior Public School imparts integrating value based education sessions. Taking meditation classes is a routine affair as immense transformation in the behaviour and attitude of students has been witnessed. Facilitators train students to learn simple and effective relaxation and meditation techniques to nurture to open inner calmness leading to improved focus, concentration and overall well-being. During the first session children were guided and they learnt to open their hearts to experience the divine residing in all of them.
VISIT TO HERBAL GARDEN
Students step in to see nature's bounties, colours and hues school herbal garden from time to time. In the beginning of the session tiny tots were taken to the garden. The guide teacher educated the youngsters on uses of herbs. They further identified shrubs and trees ,and were educated about the effects of climate change on the flora and fauna. HASYA KAVITA SAMMELAN
Laughter holds a vital place in our lives as it rejuvenates us and gives us energy to work further. Keeping this in mind CLDAV conducted Hasya Kavi Sammelan for the students of classes VI-X. The topics chosen by the students were closely related to their lives only as a result of which they succeeded in drawing the attention of the audience. Various topic for the day were environment,corruption,politics,social media,etc. Right from beginning ,atmosphere was set to thunder with laughter,humor,applause and heart rending poetry with wholesome entertainment for one hour. The veracity and simplicity of poems kept the audience spell bound.Poems on human relations and satire on political scenario gave a food for thought.
CLEANLINESS DRIVE
India is fighting a decisive battle for cleanliness and hygiene. Cleanliness is not the responsibility of only sanitation personnel and government departments, it is a multi-stake holder national movement. So, it becomes imperative that children are also involved in this noble cause to spread the awareness of 'Swachata hi sewa' among people of their nearby vicinity .The students of CLDAV Sr. Public School organised a rally on 26th sep,2018.The rally was flagged off by Ms.Omwati Punia. The students covered sector-11.Around 250 students participated in it carrying beautiful placards with slogans 'Just say no to plastic Bags' ,'Clean and green is our perfect dream', 'Green city clean city', 'My dream city'. Ms. Punia and residents of sec-11 also joined the rally. This small effort of the students was highly appreciated by the crowd of people present there. The initiative also inculcated the values of cleanliness and hygiene among the students.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS
CL DAV SR. Public School PKL., celebrated 72 Independence Day with unprecedented patriotic fervour by paying tribute to armed forces for their endless efforts and struggle safe guarding the nation. The gamut of celebration activities held on the campus consisted of special morning assembly. The entire school echoed in patriotic fervor. The tricolor banners, balloons, buntings, bands stood testimony of the vibrant mood of students. The short poem by tiny tots ‘Taquat Watan Ki Humse Hai’ enthralled the audience followed by play, melody songs, Qwali mesmerizing everyone present.
The parents of Martyr Major Sandeep Sagar and members of the Toastmasters club were the guests for the day. The chief guest motivated students as well as reminded the students and the teachers of the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers guarding the nation. He also made students take pledge to serve their motherland India with heart, body and soul to bring glory and laurels with their dignified deeds.
SHUTTLERS FOR JUNIOR ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP
Anupama Upadhyaya and Ridhi Kaur Toor of CL DAV Public School, Sector 11, have been selected to represent India in Badminton U-17 and U-15 Junior Asia Championship, in Myanmar. Anupama bagged the second position in All-India Sub-Junior Ranking Tournament at Nagpur last month. She is also the recipient of Khelo India scholarship of Rs 5 lakh per annum granted by the Indian Government. Ridhi has won the second position (doubles) in the All India Sub-Junior Ranking Tournament held at Hyderabad. Anupama bagged the gold medal in the state badminton championship for U-17 and U-19 in Sonepat recently
RAINY DAY CELEBRATIONS
Rainy day was celebrated at C L DAV public school with fun and fervor. Tiny tots enjoyed the rain dance on rock music .it is always a great fun for the kids if it is celebrated in the school. Instead of confining them to their classrooms, the student of classes’ pre-nursery, nursery were brought out in open with umbrellas and rain coats to enjoy the playful rainy weather. Children of classes pre-nursery and nursery enjoyed themselves thoroughly as they experienced the joy of splashing about in the puddles .The multi-hued raincoats, umbrella and the bright eyes, smiling faces of the children infused the atmosphere with energy and fun. Back in the classes, the children were engaged in activities related to the monsoon. They learned new vocabulary, colored and painted umbrellas, had all kind of fun art activities to help them associate better with the rains and the accessories used in this season who says you can’t learn something even while having fun.
TALENT HUNT ACTIVITY
Each child is born with a unique ability. It should be directed and tapped well. Keeping this in view. The Talent Hunt Activity was conducted in CL DAV Public School for Class I to V. The student recited poems, sang melodious songs, and danced on the hip-hop songs.The endeavor was directed towards boasting and nurturing the talent of the young students in a playing and competitive manner.
