LITAS FOR GIRLS :-6-day International Incubator!
LITAS for girls a nationwide non-profit organization of Scottsdale, Arizona signed MOU with C.L. DAV Public School Sector 11, and organized the 2016 International summer incubator in the school. More than 45 girls of the school became the part of the week-long camp and learnt visual programming HTML, Java, Octave and apps development. LITAS aims to mould girls to be the next generation leaders in Computer sciences + Stem with both the creativity and passion to build confidence in girls and give them tools to use computer science – to build something to better the world’ opined Anvita Gupta the director LITAS for girls and a student of Stanford University, a bioinformatics researcher, national winner of Intel Science Talent Search. She had also presented her research paper in computational biology to President Obama at White House Ebola Innovator Summit. The enthusiasm of the girls was highly visible as they prepared various meaningful projects, Websites and Apps to address various issues related to health, environment, education and social action using the technology skills they had learnt during the training. LITAS would thus provide opportunities to the CL DAV girls to participate in LITAS chapter activities and also network with other international LITAS Chapter Leaders on coding projects for the betterment of the society.
