PEACE CLUB 'AVNI' LAUNCHED BY Dr.NISHA PESHIN (DIRECTOR PS-II)

Our school becomes the harbinger of peace as it launched its peace club Avni amidst eminent educationlists and luminaries of repute.Dr.Nisha Peshin(Director PS-II),New Delhi and Mr.Promod Sharma co-ordinaor of NGO Yuvasatta attened the inaugural session and pinned up the badges of young volunteers and teachers who shall dedicate their time and resources to promote the culture of peace and harmony in the society.From issues of environment to violence,young adults shall conduct various tal shows,activites,Nukkad nattaks and exhibition to foster a sense of responsibility and hammer ideals of peaceful living Principal Ms.Anjali Marriya urged the volunteers to be mindful of their role,as practicing tolerance for others is apreciating the diversity and plurality of society and the willingness to live and let others live to.

23rd CHILDREN SCIENCE CONGRESS WORKSHOP

Children’s Science Congress is one of the most vibrant platform offered by the Government of India for promoting scientific temper among students. District level teacher’s workshop for 23rd children science congress was held in our school.The theme or the workshop was ‘Understandig weather and climate’.The teachers of more than 36 government and private schools of panchkula district attended the workshop.Ms.Anjali Mariiya,Principl host school presided ovr the workshop.Ms.Sunita Malik DSC,Mr.Rajeev Kochar,Ms.Beenu Bhalla the resource persons and District.Co-ordinator, graced the occasion.While sharing the guidelines for the projects for different age groups and categories it was deliberated upon by the resource persons and experts that projects should be inpractical representing team work and must be based on exploration of everyady life situations, The data collection must have definite output arrived though scientific methodology.The teachers went back enriched and motivated.

A Tribute to a true embodiment of 'People's President Dr.APJ Kalam

The students of our school mourned the loss of a great scientist,an affectionate president and above all an inspiring individual in the special assembly conducted to pay a rich tribute to the departed soul.Students through their speeches highlighted the achievements of former-President of India Dr.Abdul Kalam who immensely contributed to India's satellite programmes, ballistic missiles and alos propelled research in defence and space arena.Two minutes silence was observed and floral tributes were paid to a man of impeccable character,a man of profound knowledge and the person who ignited several young minds of India.The students took oath of fulfilling his VISION 2020 to make India 'a super power' into a reality.

INTER-SCHOOL CREATIVE WRITING AND RECITATION COMPETITION

Inter school creative writing and recitation competition was hosted by CLDAV Senior Public School on 12th aug,2015.Students from the various tri-city schools participated expressed their emotions through innocent words and actions in a  melody with all smiles and giggles,Reciting a variety of interesting poems on beauty,happiness,nature with good introduction of themselves.

100 students participated in Creative Writing with enthusiasm and their imaginative skill was tickled by showing inspiring pictures on issues like books,environment and our late President Dr.A.P.J.Abdul Kalam.

CREATIVE WRITING COMPETITION for classes VI-X

Digital world is not only inspiring generations of new researchers, but is also moulding the creative perception of individuals.Keeping this in mind Creative Writing Competition was held in the school for classes VI to X.The competition was aimed to develop creative expressions of yound budding writers and also to enable them to express themselves in a purely creative format. Around 100 students participated in this event with great enthusiasm where their imaginative skill was tickled by showing inspiring pictures on current issues.Prizes were given to those submissions that were intuitive, creatve and well-written.'Creatively often goes unrewarded,if unnoticed as emphasis is placed on technical knowledge and subjects'opined Principal Anjali Marriya,'such competitions are designed to inspire and challenge all creative individuals.'

HASYA KAVITA AND STANDUP COMEDY

The exuberant hilarity was witnessed as students of classIX and XII took part in Hasya Kavita Pratiyogita and Standup Comedy in School.The poems on foibles and follies of people, satire on society and subtle humour on relationships instantly transported the audience to the land of laughter.

The first prize was bagged by Ayushi of class X second and third by Bharti and Anisha.

Ashima ,Sanket and Madhav got consolation prizes.

In standup comedy Nikhal,Bikram and Yuvraj of class XI stole the show.  

ENGLISH POETRY RECITATION COMPETITION

The Competition was organised for classes I-V in the school premises on 24th April, 2015.The would-be poets of school cast their magic spell on the sudience as they very eloquently recited the porms about the simple things that give children pleasure-a butterfly, a kite, a favorite tree, a rainbow and a pancake.The stage come alive as students recited peoms of Willian Blake, Wordsworth, Robert Frost, Ruskin Bond and John Keats.

The winners were Raghav, Ilayana, Gulshan, Mahi, Harsh and Yatharth from class I and II and Keshav,Trisha,Mehak, Shibu, Shreya singla, Rishitam,Disha, Tejasvi and Sneh from classes III and V,

FLOWER ARRANGEMENT COMPETITION

The Competition was organised for classes IX-XII on 24th April,2015 to bring out their creative skills.About 40 teams participated in the event.The fragrance of roses,the beauty of lilies, and carnations the eye catching arrangement of glad's were just perfect opportunity to bid adieu to spring season.Participants used flowers, Bamboo strips and unconventional material to exhibit beautiful art work in variety of vases and mediums.

Lakshita and Shifali of Xth class won IInd prize

Tulika and Ankita of IXth class won IIIrd prize.

Prabha and Gul of class XII B got Ist prize

Samridhi and Aparna of class XII B won IInd prize.

Anjali and Priyanka of class XII B got IIIrd prize.

MEDICAL CAMP

Th School organised a free medical camp on 20th May,2015 for the parents and students.The main objective of the camp was to create awareness among parents for promoting healthy eating habits in order to curb rising nutritional deficiencies among the growing children.Dr.Rajni Rana, Dr.Kulwant Dhawan and Dr.A.K. Agnihortri from P.G.I were invited whereby they guided parents on healthy eating.

RED DAY CELEBRATIONS

In order to infuse the concept of red colour to the tiny toddlers, our school celebrated ‘Red Day’ in the School premises.Clad in red dresses, students were made to recognize red colour through various games and play-way activities.To make the generation next practical, the school has adopted a noble method of educating the tiny tots.The students were shown different things of red colour and the atmosphere was also constructed according to the concept of the day.

'SPLISH SPLASH' POOL PARTY

Chilling out the summer heat!!!

To beat the scorching heat children at CLDAV enjoyed a pool party.Tiny-tots looked charming in their colourful swimming costumes.It was a day full of fun and frolic and our little champs had a gala time enjoying themselves singing and dancing along with the songs like Blue hai pani and many more. The day concluded with a sumptuous party with sandwiches and juices.There was great zeal and zest all around.

SUMMER CAMP

When school is out,camp is in !

Our school organised a summer camp to beat the heat with its innovative ideas.The camp commenced with an array of events in the basket to rejuvenate.About 50 students enrolled themselved for the camp.To accentuate the individual talent,students of various age groups participate in art and craft,dance,personality development,story telling,table manners,G.K.Memory games,English plays, Cook without flame etc.The school has endeavored to offer different sports activities like cricket,table tennis,basket ball,judo,lawn tennis.

The camp provides the appropriate direction,equipments and facilities to enable kids strengthen their abilities and talents. 

FRUIT AND VEGETABLE DAY CELEBRATIONS

FUN TIME!!!

With an objective to create and educate children about the importance and consumption of fruits and vegetables in regular diet, the tiny tots celebrated Fruit and vegetable day.

Teachers had made interesting and simple stories on encouraging children to have vegetables and fruits in their meals.The teachers also explained the importance of fruits and vegetable intake in diet for mental and physical growth.The tiny tots also learned more about the taste,smell,colour and texture of each fruit and vegetable.Children clearly understood the importane of washing of fruits and vegetables before eating or cooking.

Children colour the pictures of their favroite fruit and vegetables using cryons,markets,paint,etc.They had so much fun with bright vibrant colours of fruits and vegetables.They glue seeds onto the pictures and they love to learn about how their favorite fruits and vegetbles grow!

Children and teachers sang the fruit and vegetable rhyme with great zest, enthusiasm and vigour, enjoying the moments of joy and happiness on this special day.

All the children were found to be quite thrilled and were positive on the fact that vegetables and fruits are better than junk food………………
